Build Africa's Largest Solar & Battery City in Katsina State

Northern Nigeria is blessed with some of the highest levels of sunshine in Africa. What if Katsina State became home to **Africa's Largest Solar & Battery City**, transforming abundant sunlight into reliable electricity, manufacturing, jobs and exports?
Rather than viewing the desert as empty land, Nigeria could turn it into one of its greatest economic assets.

The Vision
Develop a world-class "Solar & Battery City" in Katsina State that combines renewable energy generation, manufacturing, research and workforce development in one integrated location.
The project could include:
☀️ One of Africa's largest solar farms
🔋 A large-scale battery energy storage facility
🏭 A solar panel assembly factory
🔋 A lithium battery pack manufacturing plant
🎓 A Renewable Energy Research & Innovation Centre
👨🔧 A technical training academy for engineers and technicians
⚡ High-voltage transmission infrastructure to deliver electricity across Northern Nigeria and beyond
🚛 Modern roads, logistics and industrial infrastructure to attract private investment
---

Illustrative Project Cost
(Illustrative only – not a quotation or investment offer.)
☀️ Solar Farm — ₦1.4 Trillion
🔋 Battery Energy Storage Systems — ₦700 Billion
🏭 Solar Panel Assembly Factory — ₦180 Billion
🔋 Lithium Battery Pack Manufacturing Plant — ₦130 Billion
⚡ Transmission Infrastructure — ₦350 Billion
🎓 Research Centre & Technical Academy — ₦70 Billion
🛣️ Roads, Utilities & Site Development — ₦170 Billion
Estimated Total: ₦3 Trillion (Illustrative)
---
Why This Matters
Create tens of thousands of direct and indirect jobs.
Provide reliable electricity for homes, businesses and industries.
Reduce dependence on imported solar equipment over time.
Position Nigeria as a renewable energy manufacturing hub for West Africa.
Encourage investment in electric vehicles, battery technology and clean energy startups.
Support economic growth across Northern Nigeria.
Strengthen Nigeria's long-term energy security.

Imagine a future where electricity generated from Katsina powers industries, schools, hospitals and businesses across the country while creating new opportunities for Nigerian engineers, technicians and entrepreneurs.

It is a viable project because, the source of energy which is sunlight is more than sufficiently available in Katsina, there is a lithium processing plant in Nasarawa Nigeria already. The market to sell energy to is so huge, the energy generated wouldn't be enough to satisfy it. I am looking forward to the ground breaking ceremony...
